Blog 5b: Science Fair Proposal

1. What is your topic?
Interior Design

2. What is the driving problem behind your experiment and the quote by an expert to support that problem?

What is most important in redecorating a residential bedroom?
"Making sure the client is comfortable. Bedrooms are the last thing you experience before you go to sleep so it controls a lot. It’s not like a dining room where you just go in there to eat. It’s sort of the last thing you do, and it can control how well you sleep. For example, there’s a difference between sleeping in a crappy old house and a sleeping like a baby in a luxury hotel."
-Andrew Clark, Third Interview

3. What is your hypothesis?

If the cost of a hotel in the Inland Empire is $100 per night, then it would have neutral colors in the room.

4. Write a paragraph summary of how you will perform the experiment.  Include the tools you plan on using.

I will go to 22 hotels, with a color palette of neutral color samples. I will walk into the rooms of these hotels and compare the colors on the palette to the colors in the room to see if they match.
5. Select one of the following Project Categories for your experiment:
Behavioral/Social Science
